Ticket gates now in use on Schiermonnikoog
From Tuesday 5 May, ticket gates have been put into operation at the terminal on Schiermonnikoog. Just like at our other terminals, your ticket will now also be checked on Schiermonnikoog when you travel back to Lauwersoog.
What does this mean for your journey?
For most travellers, very little changes. You can continue to travel as you normally would. We do ask you to keep your ticket safe during your stay on the island.
You will need it again when you depart from Schiermonnikoog, where you simply scan your ticket at the gates. These are the same type of gates as used at our other terminals.
Good to know
- Keep your ticket safe for your return journey
- Have your ticket or pass ready when you arrive at the terminal
- You need your ticket to pass through the gates
Travelling as usual
For residents and pass holders, travel remains largely the same. If you travel on foot with a valid pass, you can continue to travel as you are used to. The only change is that you now also check in with your pass on Schiermonnikoog.
If you travel with a vehicle or bicycle, reservations remain required. Island residents have already been informed about this via our printed newsletter.
We’re happy to help
Our staff will be present at the gates during arrivals and departures. They are there to assist you and answer any questions, helping everything run smoothly and comfortably.
We wish you a pleasant journey and look forward to welcoming you on board.
